Odyssey
Odyssey is a 60ft semi-trad Tyler Wilson Sheerline shell with a josher bow with recess panels and rivet pack. It has a reverse layout style.
The goal of the owner was to create a graceful sleek external profile built on traditional lines, but having a modern clean and spacious flexible interior. It was also a requirement to reduce maintenance and utilise well known proven technology to ensure ease of use.
Engine fitted is a 50bhp Betamarine working with PRM 150 hydraulic gearbox and Vetus water lubricated prop shaft and 4 blade propeller. There is also a Vetus brushless proportional power bow thruster.
Odyssey is a Gas Free boat to minimise the effect of future legislation and remove audits. A secondary domestic fuel tank was incorporated under the front storage locker to provide fuel to the 5Kw Eberspracher boiler with its 3 radiators and towel rail, with an additional heat source of a Refleks diesel stove finished in copper.
Electrics are 24v for reliability with significant capacity of 4 x sealed Victron AGM leisure batteries (460 Ah at 24volts) that are supplemented with a 5Kw Victron inverter for 240v appliances and plug sockets that have USB ports incorporated within them.
Solar Power through 4 x 160w panels feeds into the batteries, alongside shoreline hook up front and aft.
The galley provides work surfaces on both sides made from a unique granite slab, with a return housing the Neff electric oven. Within the granite top is a gas oil powered Wallas hob with two plates.
Sleek units ensure no snagging and also house a Candy 4kg washing machine, an under-sink AEG compact dishwasher and a Neff fridge. There are ample draws for crockery and utensils. These being supplemented with a magic cupboard for storage.
A clothes warming cupboard, an electrical cupboard and waste bin cupboard bracket the rear steps which have additional storage draws including a wine rack.
The saloon space is flexible, as the table with desmo legs collapse to store under the gunwale. The couch extends to create a plus2 guest bed at 4’ x 6’6”. Couch seats and back are in faux leather and form the base mattress on top of a frame that extends to sit on under-drawer units.
Secondary heating in the saloon is through a Reflek diesel stove in copper.
The router within the storage/bookcase cabinet is attached to external aerials and provides 4G wi-if capability throughout the boat.
The walk through shower room with Jack and Jill doors has a hand washbasin as well as a large 900mm quadrant shower with variable pump. A macerator pump out toilet with eco and standard flush flows to a large capacity tank on the centre-line under the master bed.
The bed is a King-size cross over with deep mattress. Built-in storage provide hanging space for shirts/trousers/jackets in a glass bi-fold door cupboard with an additional long drop cupboard for coats and dresses and a flying bridge of cupboards over the bed for smaller items. The extended headboard is faux leather to match porthole buttons and couch.
